I Lay In Zion For A Foundation A Stone
I believe the Lord is constantly speaking. He wants us to get “His Message” more than we want to “get it.” In fact the Book of Romans declares in the First Chapter, the seventeenth verse: For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both spring from faith and leading to faith—disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith. 18) For God’s holy wrath and indignation are revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who in their wickedness repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative. For that which is known about God is evident to them and made plain in their inner consciousness, because God [Himself] has shown it to them. 20) For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is , His eternal power and divinity have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made—His handiworks. So men are without excuse –altogether without any defense or justification. [see Psalms 19:1-4]
That being said, when I read the following news article from FOX NEWS, the Holy Spirit immediately began bringing scriptures to my mind:
“Just as it is written, "BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."
I Peter 2:8
…”and, "A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE"; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also
appointed.” Romans 9:33
Jesus was speaking of Himself when he said:
"And he who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust." Matthew 21:44
So we understand that Jesus declared Himself to be the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy: Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested cornerstone for the foundation firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed. Is. 28:16. He accurately described the spiritual condition of those who accept Him as Messiah and those that reject Him. Reception equals a brokenness that admits need of a Savior, resulting in forgiveness of sin, peace that passeth understanding and eternal life. Rejection, on the other hand equals being crushed by the weight of our own pride, ground as fine as dust and separated from Holy God for ever.
When you view the picture of the rock fall in State Park of Utah you get a picture of the kind of rock that is able to crush anything in it’s way. Not coincidentally, the boulder that fell across the road, stopping traffic in both directions was in ZION STATE PARK….MT. ZION….situated on Mount Carmel Highway.
As I was meditating on this not- so -subtle message, the Lord brought another scripture to my mind:
"It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. Zachariah 12:3
Incidentally, the boulder fell on State Route 9. The number 9 in the bible often symbolizes finality. Christ died at the 9th hour (or 3 pm) to make the way of salvation open to everyone. He uttered the words: “It is finished.”
Is the Lord of the Universe giving America a very clear “picture” of the dangers of not only rejecting Him as Lord but also the dangers of aligning the United States with the nations of the world that desire to divide the Holy City?

A geologist was exploring the best way to get the massive rock off the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway, where it fell Wednesday evening, park spokeswoman Aly Baltrus said Thursday. Officials use dynamite in some cases to break up fallen rocks.
The boulder fell after strong thunderstorms pounded the park Wednesday afternoon. It's blocking both lanes and cracked the road, but nobody was injured, Baltrus said.
