I have never claimed to be a prophet. I do not stand in the office of a prophet nor do I aspire to stand in the office of a prophet. I am a servant of the Most High God, YHWH. I have, however, been “called” to be a watchman on the wall. More honestly, I should say, I volunteered. My heart was overwhelmed when I read Ezekiel 22:30, “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.” It was at that moment I cried unto The Father, “Here am I...”
Jonah was a reluctant mouth piece for the Lord. He was appointed to stand in the gap for that wicked city, Nineveh, even though he did not want to. He initially ran from the assignment and ended up in the belly of a great fish. If you take the time to read that small Old Testament book, Jonah, [four chapters, forty seven verses], you will find he became quite recalcitrant while surrounded by sea-weed and immersed in the gastric acids of his mobile tomb. To his credit, he repented and fulfilled his assignment to declare the Word of The Lord to a sin-hardened and obstinate people. So effective, so anointed were the words of this shrinking prophet, that the whole city repented in one day, from the President down to the most insignificant citizen. Nineveh was spared sure destruction because the populace heeded the call. They believed that God would destroy them. They demonstrated their belief by sitting in sack cloth and ashes; fasting food and water for three days. Most significantly, the scriptures record , “ …God saw that they put a stop to their evil ways.” (Jonah 3:10)
Now, I have said that to ask this: Has America repented? Have we sat in sack cloths and ashes? Have we turned from our evil ways? Perhaps, acknowledging that judgement begins at the house of God, maybe we should ask more succinctly: Is the church in repentance? Is the church sitting in sack cloths and ashes? Is the church turning from its evil ways? The promise of repentance from II Chronicles 7:14 states very clearly that if my people, which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land. From where I am standing I do not see a church broken over her sin. I do not hear a cry from pulpits instructing the sheep to humble themselves, fast, pray and turn from their wicked hedonistic ways.
As a watchman on the wall, I am to take note of both the spiritual and physical atmospheres. To understand in the spiritual realm what is happening in the physical realm and why it is happening, is part of the assignment. And, in understanding, declare this truth to those that have ears to hear. We have been sounding the alarm, blowing the trumpet, and declaring a reckoning since early August. It appeared to many that mid to late September was being poised as a flash point for several agendas to converge. We have seen dates come and go. But have we really “seen” what has transpired? Do we have eyes to see and spiritual acumen to rightly discern?
Most assuredly, the mercy of YHWH, is more than we can fathom. Voices all over America have been praying as we have: “Father in thy great wrath, remember mercy.”(Habakkuk 3:2 ) Everyday that we enjoy normalcy in this wicked and perverse generation is an absolute acknowledgement of the long-suffering of our Father. That, having been said, perhaps we are also a bit myopic in our view of “judgement.” Is the tsunami and the earthquake the only signs we are looking for? I have gathered some rather telling information that indicates the judgements are in fact in the land and they are positioned to increase as the church continues to celebrate it’s veritable Laodicean lifestyle.
Copied from Charisma News, September 25, 2015:
“But wait. While on the surface it may seem as if "nothing happened," journalist Bill Koenig provided us with these statistics that I believe everyone needs to see.
I believe it is important for you to be aware of these numbers Bill sent me. Please take the time to contemplate them:
o During the course of the most recent Shemitah, the Dow Jones industrial peaked on May 19, then reversed momentum, and began a long-term descent.
o The Dow Jones reached its all-time high of 18,351.36 on May 19.
o The Dow Jones closed at 16,443 on September 11, the last day of trading for the Shemitah year. It was the same on Sunday, September 13 (Elul 29), a non-trading day and the end of the Shemitah year. The value that was erased approached 2 trillion dollars!
o The collapse included Black Monday—August 24—the largest intraday crash in Wall Street history—over 1,000 points.
o The Shemitah of 2015 wiped out an estimated $5 trillion from international markets.
o A total of $2.1 trillion erased from U.S. stocks in six days—Aug. 26, 2015 according to CNN Money. (The Dow Jones: August 18, 2015: 17,511. On August 25, 2015, it was 15,666). Drop: 1,845 points.
o The Dow Jones high during Shemitah and the Elul 29 level, an estimated loss of just under $2 trillion of market capitalization: May 19, 2015: 18,351.36. September 13 (Elul 29) 16,443. Drop: 1,908 points.
o August 24, 2015—The Dow Jones' most dramatic intraday trading day ever ($5.7 Trillion in Equity Market Values Erased Worldwide.)
o The Shemitah struck the new engine of the world's economy—China—even more dramatically. The collapse of the Chinese stock market was one of the greatest in history—wiping out over 40 percent of its value in just a few months.
o The Shemitah of 2015 wiped out an estimated total of 7 TRILLION dollars from global markets!
What does all of this mean? Cahn shared a few insights in a personal email that he gave permission for me to quote: He went on to explain: "But very important: People's focus on the Elul 29 day crash template obscured the fact that it is a minority pattern and exception (happened only in 2 of the last 7 crashes of the last 7 Shemitahs)—and obscured the larger and very major things that actually did happen.
"The overwhelmingly predominant template of the Shemitah—and shown continuously in The Harbinger—is that of a rising stock market coming to an end in the midst of the Shemitah, reversing momentum and descending in a long-term (not day) descent—which may involve increasing volatility and dramatic-day crashes," Cahn wrote.
There are many who have a "Pollyannaish" approach that "everything will always be OK." Instead, we must be like the sons of Issachar, "discerning the times" and understanding what God is saying to us.
And remember that God's dealings are more than simply financial and more than simply with the American economy. Let's not be naive and assume that if the economy is humming along that means God is blessing us because we deserve His blessings due to our goodness!
If you agree with this, help us get this word out by sharing this far and wide on social media.

Another perspective is given by author, Bob O’dell, an entrepreneur and co-founder of Root Source: What Did Happen on Elul 29?
“ It is time to tell what interesting things did happen on Elul 29 of this year!
When we look at the events of Elul 29, having taken off our "financially focused lenses" and our "USA-centric lenses," several important things occurred.
First, on Elul 29, the leader of al-Qaida, Ayman al-Zawahri, released an audiotape that included an all-points, worldwide bulletin to young Muslim men everywhere to begin carrying out jihadi attacks in the West. Analysts say that al-Zawahri is even more persuasive among jihadis than ISIS, who had just released a video two days earlier on 9/11 called "We Are Back in America."
Second, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, also released a video taunting America for ever saying it could defeat Iran, and promising our humiliation if we ever tried.
Third, after a disturbance at the Al Aqsa Mosque on Elul 29, about 500 people visited the Temple Mount on Tishri 1. That situation is ripe for escalation. If these were to become big stories in the coming months—a large increase of Islamic lone-wolf attacks in the West, a whole new level of contemptuousness from Iran now that the nuclear deal is certain and worldwide conflict over Israel's handling of the Temple Mount—then we might just look back at Elul 29 as a key turning point indeed.
Finally, in a surprising twist, on Elul 29 Iran President Hassan Rouhani, tweeted "Shana Tovah" to the Jews, just like he did once before in 2013. What that means I would rather not even attempt to guess. –”( End of quote.)
For a purely secular view of what is happening in our American economy I would recommend the following link from the Wall Street Journal;
Over and over, the Holy Spirit is underlining these words: “FEAR NOT!” The Lord absolutely has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. We walk by faith and not by sight. Now is the hour to walk by the leading of the Holy Spirit. Do not be moved by what you see or do not see. Walk by the Spirit and the provision and protection of the Almighty is yours. Obey the Spirit.
