JESUS IS OUR BRIDGE....
Many times, life's journey leads us to a place where the waters are troubled and the way confusing or dangerous. We question how we are going to go on. How do we get from one side of the chasm to the other? How do we navigate the rushing waters roaring below us? Jesus well understood our dilemma. Wisely, He advised His followers, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
Peace is really what the human heart desires above all else. Peace with God, peace with others and peace with ourselves. The first step in finding peace is recognizing we cannot generate lasting peace in and of ourselves. Eternal peace comes from....eternity....or more specifically the Eternal One.
The prophet, Isaiah, prophesied of Jesus, "...thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in."(Isaiah 58:12) The breach of sin has seperated us from our Holy Father. But, like any true Father, the Lord desires the breach to be healed and all those that are His be brought back into fellowship with Him. He has chosen, Jesus, to be the path to relationship with Him. Jesus' perfect life, sacrifice and resurrection have paved the way for us to know God as He really is.
Consider the words of Jesus from the Gospel of John: "My prayer is not for them alone, I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you loved me...Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continiue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them." (John 17:20-23,25-26)
The above free download will explain the plan of God for Jesus to become the bridge that spans the gap between humanity and divinity. We may all cross over the bridge that Christ offers and find ourselves in the presence of our Creator...for all that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
