Another win-win situation I have found in my life is much more compelling and eternally significant. When I became acquainted with Jesus Christ, I realized that in the relationship with God, there is what is referred to as the "great exchange." Through the finished works of Calvary, I became the recipient of the best God has to offer. The only thing I lost was my sin, my shame, my woundedness, my poverty, my sickness, and my emotional distress. The things I gained are: forgiveness, beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, the riches of heaven through the Holy Spirit, divine health, and the peace that passes understanding. I got to cast off those old sin-stained garments for the robes of righteousness. And furthermore, once this life is over, I will be clothed with immortality as the mortal vestitures pass away. Why would anyone hesitate. This is absolutely the best win-win situation of all time.
Isaiah 53: 4 Surely He has borne our griefs--sickness, weakness and distress--and carried our sorrows and pain [of punishment] ...5 but He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement needed to obtain peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes that wounded Him we are healed and made whole.
Isaiah 57: 18 I have seen his [willful ways] but I will heal him; I will lead him also , and will recompense him and restore comfort to him and to those who mourn for him. 19 Peace, peace to him who is far off [both Jew and Gentile] and to him that is near! says the Lord;
Isaiah 61: 3...to give them an ornament--a garland or diadem of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise instead of a heavy burden and failing spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty and strong and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice and right standing with God] the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified...7 For your [former] shame you shall have twofold recompense; instead of dishonor and reproach your people shall rejoice in their portion...10 I will greatly exult in the Lord my God: for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
I Corinthians 15:54...So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Revelation 7:9...After this I looked and behold a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.
Revelation 6:11...then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete...
